Our Purpose
Everyone has a purpose, whether you choose to believe it is on you. Set aside religion for a moment and dwell on the question of our existence. Why are we here? Whether or not you believe in normal life or perhaps a system or a mirage, you might ask yourself this question. I believe we have a purpose because, without one, our identity wouldn't matter. We are created with different personalities, different interests, different likes, and dislikes, we are so unique and yet we are all still human. No matter how drastically different you attempt to be by altering your body or your form you are still bound by the human limitation. Simple right? Well, it only gets interesting when you start to think about who you are as a person. From birth several factors influence who you are or even who you become. You are born a blank slate in a sense, with genes from your parents that develop your appearance and begin to mold your behavior/personality. Who you are as a person matters just like a single vote matters. One person can impact the world.
To understand our purpose is to figure out a complicated math problem. There are steps. You must understand that if it wasn't for good there wouldn't be evil. Opposites will always exist because for one thing to exist the opposite must as well. The concept of a term with a positive connotation is positive because another term with a negative connotation exists. Our individual existence matters because we fill a void. After all, there isn't a missing house in a neighborhood. Our purpose is to make an impact on the world around us, this could be in a positive way or in a negative way. For example, I wake up one morning, I make breakfast and I walk over to my car. As I am backing out, the neighborhood child on a bike passes by me and I suddenly stop. My route time is now delayed, my entire day is shifted, even for a brief second. The fact that the child was there at the wrong moment at the right time signifies the importance of his existence. It can get complicated. You may be asking "well, that's minuscule why does that even matter?" It matters because it causes a chain reaction. No day is preset, there are things that get in the way, things that may be unexpected or unpredictable. This is why contingency plans are made and why it's important to never plan too far ahead. Anything can happen at any time.
However, our purpose goes beyond interrupting others. Our roles, our jobs, our titles, everything matters. We are the building blocks that prevent the extinction of the human race. People come and go every single day, but of those people, a few stand out and make a big impact. Take a person who invents something new. Over the past 100 years, we've seen plenty of inventions come to life. New inventions mean new problems to solve, new avenues to discover, and new potential. This means another alteration for people in that field, the purpose of the inventor was to change a way of thinking. In conclusion, everyone makes an impact, some make a bigger one than others, but everyone's existence matters because even the tiniest occurrence or interaction can have life-changing effects and alter the course of one person or many.
So go out there, bump into some people
You might just change their life...
